Software Development Agency
Somewhere in your business there is a spreadsheet doing a job it was never designed to do. Probably several, held together with copy and paste and one person who knows how they all fit. Custom software replaces that quiet chaos with a system built around the way your business actually works, instead of the way a vendor guessed it might.
We are a software development company building bespoke systems for UK businesses: CRMs shaped around your real sales process, SaaS products taken from idea to paying users, internal tools that remove hours of manual admin, and the APIs and integrations that finally make your existing platforms talk to each other.
Custom software development has a reputation for blown budgets and deadlines that drift. We think that reputation comes from vague scoping, not from the work itself. So every project here starts with a written specification and a fixed price. Agree the scope, fix the cost, build the system. That is the model, and it is in writing before a line of code exists.
Why businesses come to us
Nobody wakes up wanting custom software. They wake up wanting one of these problems gone.
Orders, quotes, stock, rotas, all living in files that only one person understands. It works until that person is on holiday, the file breaks or two people edit the same row. A proper system removes the single point of failure.
You pay monthly for a tool, then pay again in workarounds, exports and duplicated admin because it was built for a generic business rather than yours. The small slice it cannot do is usually where your margin lives.
The same customer details get typed into three platforms. Reports mean exporting from one tool and pasting into another. Well built integrations and APIs move that data automatically and remove the errors that come with retyping it.
You know the problem, the market and the customers, but not how to turn that into working software. Hiring developers is slow and expensive. You need a team that can scope, build and ship a first version without you managing the engineering.
What we build
Every engagement is shaped to the project, but these are the things our software clients most often take away.
Before any build, we map your workflows, data and integrations into a written specification. It becomes the contract for the project and a document any developer could work from.
Browser based systems built on modern, well supported frameworks. Quoting tools, booking platforms, client portals, dashboards: software your team logs into every day and your competitors cannot buy.
A CRM moulded to your actual pipeline, not a generic one you bend to fit. Plus the internal admin tools that swallow staff hours: approvals, scheduling, reporting, stock.
From first version to paying subscribers: accounts, billing, roles and the boring but vital plumbing like backups and monitoring, built so the product can grow without a rewrite.
Clean, documented APIs for your own systems, and integrations that connect your accounting, ecommerce, CRM and marketing platforms so data flows without anyone copying and pasting.
Automated tests, plain English documentation and a structured handover. You get the source code, the credentials and the knowledge, not a dependency on us.
How a software project runs
We sit down with the people who will actually use the system and map what it must do, what it must connect to and what success looks like in plain terms.
The workshop becomes a written specification with screens, data and integrations defined, plus a fixed price in pounds. Nothing starts until you have approved both.
Work runs in short cycles with a working version you can click at the end of each one. You see real progress, not status reports, and feedback lands while change is cheap.
Automated tests, security checks and real user trials with your team before anything goes live. Bugs found now are cheap. Bugs found in production are not.
Straight answers.
On price, we explain what drives it and put a fixed figure in writing after your free audit.
It depends on the number of screens and user roles, the complexity of the logic, the integrations involved and how much data needs migrating. That is why we never quote from a one line brief. After a scoping call you get a written, fixed quote in pounds covering the full build. The price you approve is the price you pay, with no hourly surprises partway through.
Sometimes off the shelf is genuinely the right answer, and we will tell you so. If a well supported product covers nearly everything you need at a sensible subscription, buy it. Bespoke software development earns its keep when the gaps are costing you real time or money, when the workflow is your competitive advantage, or when subscription costs across a growing team start to outrun the price of owning your own system.
You do. Full stop. On final payment you own the source code, the database, the documentation and every account the system runs on. There is no licence fee to keep using what you paid for, and you are free to have any other software development agency maintain or extend it. We think we earn ongoing work by being good, not by holding keys.
A focused internal tool can be live in a small number of weeks. A first SaaS release or a full CRM build typically takes a few months. The honest timeline is set out in your specification before you commit, and because the scope is fixed, the dates do not quietly slide the way they do on open ended hourly projects.
Modern, widely used and well documented ones: typically TypeScript and frameworks such as Next.js and Node.js, with established databases and cloud hosting. The honest reason is hiring risk. We choose tools with a deep pool of UK developers, so if you ever move on from us, you are not stuck hunting for a specialist in something obscure.
Software needs upkeep: security patches, dependency updates, small improvements as your business changes. We offer optional support plans that cover monitoring, updates and a monthly allowance of changes, billed month to month with no long tie in. Plenty of clients also run the system with their own team using our documentation, which is exactly what it is written for.
Almost always, yes. Our API development services cover connecting accounting packages, ecommerce platforms, CRMs, payment providers and most tools that offer an API, plus building well documented APIs of your own. Where a platform has no usable API, we say so in scoping and propose a workable alternative rather than promising magic.
